Located within 2 hours of the San Francisco Bay Area, the Pacific Coast, and the Sacramento Valley, Lake County offers diverse accommodation choices ,a variety of recreational facilities, community activities, and special events.

With plenty of water and a surface area of more than 43,000 acres, Clear Lake is the ideal spot for fishing, swimming, water skiing, jet skiing, parasailing, windsurfing, kneeboarding, and other water sports.

Boats of all varieties and other watercraft may be rented from many businesses around the lake. Marinas and free public launch ramps can be found in many of the shoreline communities. Other lakes and reservoirs offer additional recreational opportunities.

Concerts, festivals, farmers markets, gold mine tours, nature hikes, auto races, and lake cruises are among the special events planned for the summer months. Additional recreation possibilities include golf, hiking, and bicycling. Many events and activities are presented free of charge.
